SpeedCams.world is a browsing and export interface for a dated, processed snapshot of speed-camera records from OpenStreetMap. It is not a live enforcement feed, an official camera register, or a statement of complete worldwide coverage.
What “current snapshot” means
Counts below are read from the site's generated dataset. They count accepted records and country assignments in this publication—not every real-world camera, and not every camera mapped in OSM today.

Purpose and editorial boundary
The useful claim this site can support is narrow: it helps people inspect and reuse records available in one documented data snapshot. Country and type totals are descriptive outputs from those accepted records.
The site does not infer whether a camera is active, legal, correctly signed, or suitable for navigation. It also does not certify local speed limits, penalties, enforcement policy, or road-safety outcomes. Road signs and official instructions always take priority.
How to read the data responsibly
- Presence is not live status. A mapped object may have changed since the snapshot.
- Absence is not proof. Unmapped or rejected locations will not appear.
- Country labels are derived. They depend on the boundary dataset and spatial classification process.
- Tagged speeds need context. Values are shown only when the importer can preserve and interpret their units safely.
Corrections and contact status
There is currently no verified public email address or submission form for SpeedCams.world. The site does not pretend that feedback has been sent or received.
If the underlying location or tags are wrong, correct the source in OpenStreetMap rather than emailing an unverified address. If the OSM object is correct but this site assigns it to the wrong country or transforms it incorrectly, do not alter OSM to compensate; that is a derived-data issue and the public reporting channel is currently unavailable.
